EV chargers, any brand.

We fit the charger you choose, including the Tesla Wall Connector, or help you pick one.

Brands we fit include Tesla, Zappi, Wallbox, Ocular, Autel, Evnex and Fronius.

  • Single-phase, about 7 kW

Right for most homes. Overnight it adds roughly 300 to 400 km of range, depending on the car.

  • Three-phase, 11 kW

If your house already has three-phase power and your car can take it. A Tesla Model 3 or Model Y charges at up to 11 kW at home.

  • Charging from your solar

Already have solar? Some chargers fill the car only from spare solar. We fit the charger and set it up to do that.

A charger needs its own circuit. We check your switchboard first. If it needs work, the quote says so, line by line, before anything starts.

There's no government rebate for home EV chargers at the moment.

Paying over time: eligible homes can borrow up to $15,000 interest-free through the NSW Home Energy Saver program for an EV charger.

The range

The chargers we fit.

We supply and fit these four, or fit the one you've already bought. Each one runs on its own circuit and works with the Type 2 plug most EVs sold in Australia use.

  • Tesla Wall Connector

Tesla's own charger, and it works with most other EVs too. 7.4 kW on a single-phase house. On three-phase, a Model 3 or Model Y takes up to 11 kW. The cable is attached and 7.3 m long. Four-year warranty for home use.

  • myenergi zappi

Made for solar. It can charge from spare solar, mix in power from the grid, or charge at full speed, and you switch between them in the myenergi app. 7.4 kW on single-phase or 22 kW on three-phase, with the cable attached or a socket for your own lead. Three-year warranty. Add a harvi, a wireless sensor that saves running a cable to your meter, or an eddi, which sends spare solar to your electric hot water once the car is full.

  • Evnex E2

A tidy 7.4 kW charger with the cable attached: 5 m on the Core, 8 m on the Plus. The Plus can charge from spare solar, the grid or both, set in the Evnex app. Four-year warranty for home use.

  • Fronius Wattpilot Flex

For homes with a Fronius solar inverter. Paired with the inverter and a Fronius Smart Meter, it charges the car from surplus solar first. 7.4 kW on single-phase, with a 6 m cable attached and the Solar.wattpilot app. Three-year warranty.

  • Already have a charger?

Bought one online or with the car? We'll check the model first, then fit it, test it and give you the certificate.

  • A 15 A power point

Some EVs come with a portable charger that plugs into a power point. If you drive short distances, a 15 A power point on its own circuit may be all you need. It's a smaller job than a wall charger, and it charges faster than a standard point if your portable charger takes 15 A. We'll tell you if that's enough.

How much driving an hour of charging adds.

How you chargeRange added in an hour
A standard 10 A power point, with the car's portable chargerAbout 10 km
A wall charger on single-phase, 7.4 kWAbout 50 km
A wall charger on three-phase, 11 kWAbout 75 km

Tesla's figures for a Model 3 or Model Y. A Model S or Model X adds 34 to 38 km an hour on single-phase, and other cars differ.

A quote you can compare.

Your quote lists the charger, any switchboard work and the installation as separate lines.

A 30% deposit locks in your installation date.

A charger is usually half a day. A long cable run can take most of the day.

When it's done, you get the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.

The price we quote is the price you pay.

  1. 1

We come and look. Under the house, in the roof, at the board. We take photos as we go.

  2. 2

You get the quote in writing, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

  3. 3

Once you say yes, the price doesn't move. If we open something up and find a real surprise, we stop, show you, and quote it before we go any further.

Questions

Do I need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. Old fuse boards usually do. We check at the visit and tell you before we quote.

Will a power point do, or do I need a wall charger?

It depends how far you drive. A standard power point adds about 10 km of range an hour, so it suits short daily trips. A wall charger adds about 50 km an hour, so most cars are full by morning. We'll tell you which you need.

Can I charge from my solar?

If you already have solar, yes. A solar-aware charger fills the car from spare solar, and we set it up. We don't install solar panels or batteries.

Which charger works with my solar?

The zappi, with a sensor on your mains, and the Evnex E2 Plus can both charge from spare solar. The Fronius Wattpilot does it alongside a Fronius inverter and smart meter. We'll look at your solar and suggest the one that fits.

Can you fit the charger I bought online?

Yes, if it suits your car and your switchboard. Send us the model and we'll check it before the day.

Do you install home batteries?

Not at the moment. We fit EV chargers and do the electrical work around them.

Who deals with Ausgrid?

We do. We notify Ausgrid, or apply, when your supply needs it.
